Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Financial literacy is a critical skill that empowers individuals to make informed financial decisions and manage their personal finances effectively. In Dala Local Government Area (LGA), Kano State, indigenous language radio programs have the potential to reach a large portion of the population and promote financial literacy. This study explores the role of indigenous language radio in promoting financial literacy in Dala LGA, focusing on how radio programs in local languages can improve financial knowledge and decision-making among the community.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Many people in Dala LGA lack the necessary financial knowledge to manage their finances effectively, which contributes to poor economic outcomes. While financial literacy programs exist, there is limited research on the role of indigenous language radio in promoting financial literacy. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of indigenous language radio in improving financial literacy in Dala LGA.
